Moonlit Surprise

Jingyue is the only nine-tailed spirit fox in all of heaven and earth.

Foxes like her are perfect in every way, except for one thing that makes them a liability.

They make exceptionally good cultivation partners.

To hide her identity, Jingyue has dressed as a boy since childhood and disguised herself as a plain-looking fox. Even so, she cannot escape the fate of being coveted by others.

In the endless snowfields of Canglan, Jingyue comes across a boy who is being beaten nearly to death.

His spiritual roots are shattered and his meridians destroyed. But there is one thing he still has: a boundless hatred in his eyes, and an extraordinary destiny.

Before she can be caught, Jingyue forms a contract with the boy.

From then on, she follows him into a life unlike any other, full of twists and turns.

Jingyue follows the boy into Canglan Continent's foremost sect.

Unfortunately, she's only a spirit pet, not a proper human cultivator, so she gets no more than the title of an outer disciple. Even the boy's master doesn't like her much, always thinking she's a seductive fox who has bewitched his disciple.

Jingyue can only cultivate alone among the outer disciples.

Then her coming-of-age period arrives, and the boy finally discovers that the little fox by his side is actually a sweet, delicate girl.

After the boy helps her get through her coming-of-age period, Jingyue wants to return the favor. So she finds the junior sister who has a crush on him and brings her to meet him.

But the boy mistakenly thinks she wants to form a contract with the junior sister, and promptly locks her up.

Jingyue: It's not as if this can't be explained!
