After Inheriting the Family Fortune, My Reputation Took a Hit

The third daughter of the Sheng family has always been a mystery in Beijing's elite circles. Her eldest brother is the head of a multinational conglomerate, and her second brother is a prosecutor. Both brothers left home to build their own careers, handing the enormous family business over to her. Yet she, the heir, is indifferent to fame and fortune and keeps out of sight. No one in the capital has even seen her face. Then one day, Old Master Sheng was admitted to the intensive care unit, leaving Shengshi Group without a leader. The company's shareholders were forced to seek her out. Her eldest brother spread his hands. "I can't answer that. Next." Her second brother pushed up his glasses. "Politicians don't go into business. Next." With nowhere else to turn, the shareholders mobilized all their connections, finally digging Third Miss Sheng out of the remote wilderness where she'd been hiding. And so Third Miss Sheng's happy life as a lazy fish became: Another day of not wanting to work properly. Shrug.jpg Later, after she finally found something interesting amid the endless boredom of listening to reports every day, that something was visiting her grandfather in the hospital. Two months passed before Dr. Gu heard from his assistant that the woman who sat beside him at the weekly academic conference wasn't a new intern, and that the garment she wore wasn't a lab coat, but a collaboration from a major designer's white collection. At lunch, Dr. Gu looked at the woman who'd sat down across from him without asking and offered a sincere plea. "Miss Sheng, could you stop following me around?" Third Miss Sheng scratched her head. "Surely it isn't unreasonable for the board chair to experience the hospital cafeteria food with you all." Bonus scene: One day, when Third Miss Sheng and Dr. Gu had finally become close enough to meet each other's families, she went to his home and discovered that Dr. Gu was the even more mysterious second young master of the Gu family in Beijing's elite circles.
