Blurb
Everyone in Yue Shui Village laughed at Gu Chi for being handsome but frail, saying he was born to spend his life working the fields. Before long, they were all left dumbfounded.
That sickly young man had made a fortune from prize money, and the poor scholar had become a top imperial exam success.
Heroine’s blurb
Peach blossoms cluster in delicate bunches. The first time Ye Xi sees Gu Chi, she looks up with her fair little face and smiling almond-shaped eyes. “Big brother, this peach blossom is for you.”
At first, Ye Xi has her eye on the big peaches at the Gu family’s house. Later, the “little peach spirit” starts setting her sights on the handsome third son of the Gu family.
Newlywed blurb
Mother Gu looks at her new daughter-in-law. She’s pretty, well-mannered, and wonderful in every way. There’s just one thing: her son has to kiss and hug her every single day. Good grief, she can’t bear to watch.
Note: The first three chapters are from the heroine’s point of view; all the rest are from the hero’s.
① Coming soon to completion: Transmigrating to My Parents’ Youth. Please add it to your reading list!
After returning to her hometown, Ye Xingzhi experiences one strange thing after another. She dreams that she is a villain in several stories, with a three-and-a-half-year-old villainous daughter named Lu Kui Kui.
All the stories have one thing in common: the male lead is Lu Kui Kui’s father, Lu Shi’an, while Ye Xingzhi and three-and-a-half-year-old Lu Kui Kui are wicked villains who eventually get abandoned by him.
Ye Xingzhi dismisses it as a nightmare, but that very afternoon she meets a little girl.
The girl has round cheeks like a little sunflower. She rushes into Ye Xingzhi’s arms and calls her “Mama.”
Ye Xingzhi: She’s only sixteen and unmarried. How could she have a three-and-a-half-year-old villainous little sunflower for a daughter?
*
Lu Kui Kui wakes up and finds she’s traveled seven years into the past. She has to find her mother, but along the way she meets one person after another who looks at her and her mother, Ye Xingzhi, like they’re villains.
Ye Xingzhi: The bill collectors are here! The pitiful cannon-fodder characters from those stories have come to life and are here to take revenge on her and Lu Kui Kui!
*
Ye Xingzhi finds a young man covered in blood in the hills behind the village. He looks exactly like Kui Kui’s father, but his surname isn’t Lu. His name is Xu Xingzhi.
Everyone says Xu Xingzhi is unlucky. He’s gentle and courteous, but Ye Xingzhi knows he’s no good.
Ye Xingzhi: Is this really her future scumbag husband? Maybe she shouldn’t save him?
② Coming soon: The Villainess in an Ancient Apocalyptic Mature Romance. Please add it to your reading list!
Lin Xia is the wicked villainess in a restricted historical romance. Following the usual formula, she’s been jealous of the heroine since childhood, took credit for saving her life, and threw herself at a string of powerful men. Whenever the male leads give the heroine those unmistakable looks, Lin Xia keeps barging in without a clue, mocking and framing the second male lead, Jiang Si, and even drugging him.
After she dutifully follows most of the plot, a gigantic meteor shower suddenly falls from the sky. A strange disease appears, turning those infected into bloodthirsty biters called “living corpses.”
A group of people takes refuge in a ruined temple. Outside, several living corpses slam against the wooden door.
The young woman facing the entrance trembles with fear. Lin Xia is slender and frail; it’ll only take a few minutes for the living corpses to burst in, bite her, and tear her apart.
At the far end, Jiang Si grips a sharp blade, his expression cold, as if none of this has anything to do with him. For an idiot like her, becoming an idiot living corpse would be fitting.
But just as the living corpses break through the door, Lin Xia awakens!
Well, does she really need to awaken now?
Her sweet, pampered historical romance has turned into a restricted apocalypse novel. She’s wasted the past decade and more!
*
The young general, a high-level living corpse, the leader of a refuge city, the master healer developing a cure for the living corpses... Male leads one through six appear in turn, but none of them have anything to do with Lin Xia. Though there is a scene where they throw her into a horde of living corpses to make the heroine happy.
When disaster strikes, Jiang Si assumes that the melodramatic, helpless Lin Xia will be the first to die. But just like her name suggests, Lin Xia has the vitality of a forest in midsummer. She fights living corpses, stockpiles supplies, grows vegetables and grain, and flees from extreme weather. Even the leaders of the refuge cities compete to become her underlings.
Lin Xia: Surviving the apocalypse is hard. Surviving an apocalypse romance novel is even harder. Either I get bitten by a living corpse on day one, or I make it through!
A short scene:
As the living corpses break into the ruined temple, newly awakened Lin Xia immediately throws herself at Jiang Si. Gazing at him adoringly, she clutches his robes and makes sure everyone in the temple can hear her. “Brother, I’m your long-lost sister. Save me!”
Jiang Si: ...
Looking at the drama queen before him and the strongly disapproving stares of everyone else, Jiang Si’s urge to kill grows even stronger!
An ancient-world disaster apocalypse story featuring stockpiling, fighting zombies, a system, farming, and infrastructure building.
Theme: In books, you’ll find golden houses; in books, you’ll find beauties.
