After narrowly missing out on the Kanto Tournament title, Seiichi Yukimura had no choice but to push his body, still recovering from a brush with death, through grueling rehabilitation, enduring the grief and pain. In just a few dozen days, he risked another relapse to return to the court.

At the National Tournament, Sanada rejected Yukimura’s proposal, denied his tennis, and abandoned him on the court. For a moment, Yukimura was in agony, but he couldn’t let it show. Marui and Kuwabara were still playing; he couldn’t distract them. Once he had steadied himself, he watched the sudden burst of synchronicity from the other side and their impossibly quick recovery of stamina without panicking. Even if Marui and the others lost, he wouldn’t. He was that confident.
