A Leisurely Life of Wealth in Bianjing

Blurb: In her previous life, Ming Yuenu, the third daughter of the Ming family, devoted herself to becoming a virtuous lady praised by all, but lost her true self in the process.

After being reborn, she only wants to cast all those tedious rules aside, eat, drink, and have fun, ride horses, play polo, and visit the pleasure quarters. Along the way, she'll marry the short-lived Crown Prince Dao Xian, who is destined to die young, and become an elegant princess consort who enjoys a comfortable life as a widow.

But she never expected the Crown Prince to be paranoid: "The Ming family has always been close to Empress Liu. If their third daughter suddenly keeps arranging chance encounters with me, she must be up to something!"

Later, the Crown Prince: "Yes, yes, exactly, you're right about everything!"

An overthinking Crown Prince and a drama queen test each other.

Bonus scene:

Ming Yuenu patted her chest. "I've lived two lifetimes. Surely I can handle one young man? I'll find out where the Crown Prince is going, arrange to bump into him, and drop a handkerchief at his feet. When he picks it up for me, I'll recite a poem and flash him a charming smile. That'll seal the deal!"

Crown Prince: "Hah, why did this woman give me a piece of dragon-patterned candy? Could she be in love with me? Wait! She gave some to someone else too. Is she playing hard to get?!"

P.S. The heroine's name comes from the name Li Bai gave his eldest son: Slave of the Bright Moon. In the Song dynasty, "slave" was not an insult, but simply a humble form of self-reference.

In the lovely third month of spring, when the Moshang Brook is in season, the twenty-four seasonal winds know only how to blow flowers apart and tear at the willows. I'll wander through Bianjing and live as a wealthy idler.
