The Sickly Young Master

Wu Shi was the adopted son of the wealthy Qi family, and everyone envied his good fortune.

He thought he was lucky, too. He had adoptive parents who took him in, loved him, and spent a fortune on his medical care.

Until his adoptive parents showed his arms, covered in needle marks, to the media, presenting them as proof of their loving care.

While he lay on the operating table, he was nothing but a prop for their performance. Every surgical scar on his body became another good deed the Qi family could claim.

Only then did Wu Shi realize that the one who was truly ill was his adoptive mother, who had factitious disorder imposed on another. He was nothing but a prop to attract attention.

Outsiders praised the Qi family as philanthropists and called him the chosen one, all the while consumed by envy.

The sickly young man smiled on the surface, but in secret he built a coffin, waiting until he inherited the family business so he could take the Qi family with him to a grand funeral.

Just as he was about to inherit the Qi family fortune, they found their biological son, Qi Yun, who had been lost to them for years.

At exactly the same time, Wu Shi was once again admitted to a VIP ward with great fanfare.

Rumors spread everywhere:

There can be only one tiger on a mountain. The wealthy family's adopted son has been poisoned by their biological heir!

He's in intensive care, and they've even pulled out his oxygen tube.

The Qi family's adopted son doesn't have long to live!

**

In the hospital room, Qi Yun sat calmly beside the bed, peeling an apple for the sickly young man.

Qi Yun: They're saying you were killed by me.

Wu Shi smiled silently, counting the hidden dangers he'd planted in the Qi family. Before long, the rumor would come true.

Qi Yun: For the sake of my reputation, come out for a walk with me now and then when you're feeling well.

Wu Shi silently pulled out his funeral arrangements list and added a new member.

Great. Another bloodsucker trying to use him to get attention. Not one of the Qi family is any good! As soon as I'm discharged, I'll slaughter you all!
