Also known as As You Wish, a Taoist priest x princess story
(Recommended for those who love history, culture, and Taoism, and of course, a heavenly romance)
Before she was reborn, she was the emperor and empress's most beloved eldest daughter. The Khitan cavalry had only just withdrawn from Chanyuan when the court was thrown into turmoil once more. A Taoist priest won top honors in the imperial examinations, earning the admiration of countless women in the capital.
A few years later, the empress lost the emperor's trust. The princess was forced to marry a great general, leaving the Taoist priest, who had entered court for her sake, neglected.
An imperial decree forced the Taoist priest to marry the Third Princess and become her consort. But the princess died on their wedding night, and the furious emperor banished her husband to the frontier. Before he left, she sneered coldly, "Are you cursed to bring your wives to ruin, Taoist?" He walked away without looking back. Only after he was gone did she realize how bitter her tears were.
The court was rife with turmoil. Who could have guessed that the general, now her husband, would raise an army in rebellion, seize the throne from his younger brother, and imprison her in the palace? In the end, she was sentenced to death and thrown into a mass grave.
The world laughed at her and scorned her. A lifetime lost in confusion, a lifetime of regret.
As she lay dying, only the Taoist priest came. Only he remained. Only he carried a heart that neither hated nor abandoned her.
So she laid all the blame on herself and closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she was seventeen once more, praying for the emperor's safe return at Yuanching Abbey while he was away on campaign. It was where they first met.
And so began her journey of punishing scumbag men, fighting wicked women, and protecting her wife at all costs.
Before marriage
Li Ruojun: "Why does the princess keep clinging to Shaohuai?"
Zhao Wanyu: "Yuanzhen merely admires the Daoist master's extensive learning." She rolled her eyes inwardly. In my previous life, you were the lecher who wouldn't leave me alone!
Li Ruojun: "..."
After marriage
Lying in Li Ruojun's arms, Zhao Wanyu wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled teasingly. "Does my consort still say I'm the one clinging to you?"
Holding his lovely princess-wife, whose soft body fit snugly in his arms, Li Ruojun hurriedly shook his head. "Even if Your Highness tells me to leave now, I'll still cling to you and refuse to go!"
They drank the nuptial wine from their joined cups and said together, "May we be swallows beneath the rafters, never parted year after year."
The story will go VIP tomorrow, April 25, with three chapters released then~
P.S. Set in an alternate Song Dynasty. Happy ending.
A note on the debate over the princess's characterization: The opening shows her from the perspective of her state of mind, so the side of her that appears there is distorted. Her true self will be revealed gradually in various ways later on. (I promise you'll like this character more and more as you read.)
Check out the author's completed stories in the profile: The Beauty Outshines the Empire and The Romance of Yin and Shang.
Purpose:
I think Shangyuan Ankang here can be understood as the feelings expressed by each character in this group drama to the people they cherish. The hidden passion is hidden in this sentence "Ankang". Yuan Rong, Yuan Zhen, Shaohuai, the little princess, the sudden surprise at the end of the drama. All the people who died in the struggle for imperial power in the war, even the emperor and Liu Er. This is the conclusion of the whole story. The last Shangyuan Festival was famous in the capital. It is the attachment of several generations that makes others envious. It is the conclusion of the main story and the beginning of the little princess.
I feel like it's a pity that I haven't finished writing about Shen and the little princess. It's such a bland ending.
After reading it, the one I'm most looking forward to is Shiro's pair. But it's a pity
Come on, author, I really like the pairing of the princess and Li Shaohuai, especially the setting of their life experiences. Probably only a passionate person like Li Shaohuai can accept the princess quickly, and the character design is very good.
Your last name is Ou and your first name is Yang Xiu??? Seriously??? Ouyang Xiu, whose surname is Ouyang Xiu????
I really want to see the follow-up. It would be great if there is a second part.
Still like this article as always. Yuan Zhen Shaohuai cherished the regrets of his past life and stayed together for a long time in this life. The red beans sprouted in the early stage and then grew wantonly. He could not escape and faced his heart. The flowers bloomed and fell and finally bore fruit.
Even if the flaws don't cover up the virtues, it is beautiful.
Where to read the locked chapters?
It's so beautiful that I can't help but watch it again. Huanhuan's literary talent is very good, I like it very much.
