The Little Immortal Is Forced to Work

Su Yimeng is a minor civil official under the Heavenly Court. Because he works diligently, his superior grants him some time off in the human world. He also has a little task: observe the current state of the human world and record it, so the Heavenly Court can stay informed.

So Su Yimeng begins his journey of working odd jobs in the human world.

At first, he becomes an actor. His guardian has connections in the entertainment industry and arranges for him to play the male lead in a xianxia drama. Su Yimeng sees the male lead say, "I'll make all the living beings of the Three Realms pay for your burial," and his hand trembles. He gives up the role and instead plays a law-abiding love spoiler. Whenever the male and female leads fall in love, he interferes; when they want to sacrifice all the living beings of the Three Realms, he locks them up and tells them to stop causing trouble. At first, his agent says that playing a villain who gets in the way of the leads' romance will surely get him criticized.

Su Yimeng waits and waits. After a long time, he discovers that he's become popular.

[Su Yimeng, the spokesperson for my soul. Why should all the living beings of the Three Realms pay for their romance?]

Su Yimeng's second side job is as an artist. His distinctive ink-wash style is very popular. One day, he receives a commission: "Could you draw a love triangle between Yang Jian, Nezha, and Sun Wukong?"

At the familiar names, Su Yimeng's hand trembles again, and he decides to refuse.

The client: "Is this amount enough?"

Thinking of his little nest egg, Su Yimeng says: "Well, it's not really about the money."

When Nezha descends to the mortal world, Su Yimeng's drawing is nearly finished. Seeing his superior's gaze from next door, Su Yimeng panics and says, "Please hear me out! These are actually the Great King of the Golden Star, the Six-Eared Macaque, and the sea god Poseidon!"
