[A Touken Ranbu/Call of Cthulhu fanfiction written purely for fun and to indulge my imagination.]
After submitting his application to transfer to another post, Qing Ting, an official from the Dark Citadel Abolition Department, was assigned to take over a citadel whose Saniwa had disappeared.
But after passing through the portal, what he saw was utterly unlike the final inspection record in the government's files: a murder scene plain to the eye, a haunted place filled with ominous black mist, and a bona fide "dark citadel."
The new Saniwa was dressed in an inspector's uniform, but for some reason had taken on the appearance of the initial sword he had brought from the government: "Yamanbagiri Chogi."
The former Saniwa, "Shien," had long been dead, yet her twisted spiritual power still seemed to affect the citadel. The scripts she had written in the past still held sway over everything in this alternate space. The citadel Qing Ting faced did not exist on the plane of reality. It was inside an imagined world created by Shien: a Call of Cthulhu tabletop roleplaying scenario. The sword warriors Shien had manifested were likewise lost in one mad story after another, unable to awaken.
Convinced that clearing every scenario would let him reclaim Yamanbagiri Chogi, Qing Ting began his battle against the chaotic-evil KP.

*As the description says, this is an episodic story set in a Touken Ranbu fanfiction and Call of Cthulhu tabletop roleplaying world.
*The investigators are just as prone to procrastinating as the author.
*Since this is a tabletop roleplaying story, there may be quite a few SAN CHECK scenes.
In other words, R18-G content, violence against the sword warriors, and destruction may appear as part of the scenarios.
*For now, there are no pairings.
But the author likes all kinds of orientations, so the story may include slash romance between sword warriors, with one-sided feelings.
There may also be genderbending, modern AUs, and other odd elements.
*The male lead, the Saniwa who takes over the citadel, is an over-the-top Yamanbagiri Chogi fan.
He's really intense, and might make some readers uncomfortable. But he doesn't hate Yamanbagiri Kunihiro! Kunihiro is also a Yamanbagiri.
It's more like, "The Honka is so divine. Is he a god? He is a god, after all. But anyone who hurts the Honka, even a god, is unforgivable."
*For the most part, the story reads like a Yamanbagiri Chogi replacement character story.
