P.S. The foolish author wrote this on a whim. The logic doesn't stand up to scrutiny. I mostly wrote it because I felt so sorry for Lan Yeming after watching this TV series in elementary school. I hope readers find the same comfort I did, and I wish him a happy life from now on, free of illness and pain, with someone he loves by his side.
Thank you to everyone who read this. If you want to scold the foolish author, please go easy on me. I worked hard on it. I only hope I can offer a little comfort to myself, and some comfort to people who like Lan Yeming too.
I really couldn't find any Lan Yeming fan fiction, and almost none of the stories were complete. So when I later thought about abandoning this one, remembering how much it bothered me gave me the strength to keep going... I finally finished it. I rushed the ending a little, so please forgive me.
