[Naruto] The Hyuga Clan's Unorthodox Plan

[New blurb updated 2025.9.19]

Zhengdao is the most insane and wicked member of the Hyuga Clan's branch family, a notorious figure whose temper is inversely proportional to his good looks.

He has no attachment to the mortal world, but he is devoted to the art of poison.

Whenever poison is involved, he becomes ruthless and obsessed, losing all sense of the world around him.

Sometimes he massacres an entire city; other times he takes control of a clan. Every time, he gives the Hyuga Clan a headache.

While Zhengdao is busy going mad, Hashirama Senju gets driven into the poison room.

Hyuga: We're doomed. The Senju are definitely going to... Huh? Why isn't the Senju throwing a fit?

Tobirama: Big Brother, Father won't come save you, so I'll do it!

Hashirama: Tobirama, don't come over! Your big brother has something important and slightly indecent to discuss!

While Zhengdao is busy going mad, Madara Uchiha gets driven into a small grove.

Uchiha: Lord Madara really is fearsome... Wait?

Hashirama: (slapping his thigh and laughing) Madara can't escape either! Hahahaha!

Madara: Hmph.

While Zhengdao is busy going mad... he discovers that he can't go any further.

In strength, he is virtually unmatched. In power, he controls the nobles and holds other people's lives in his hands. In material wealth, he has everything he could want while others struggle to feed themselves.

As for poison, he has already mastered every art and technique he can learn.

He suddenly finds life terribly dull. He spends his days wandering between the poison room and noble estates, enjoying the fearful, reverent looks people give him and the thrill of controlling and toying with them.

Until one day,

Hashirama Senju severs one of his arms. Zhengdao retaliates by shattering Hashirama's heart, but Hashirama comes right back to life and starts bouncing around, more energetic than before.

In an instant, Zhengdao realizes he can go mad all over again.

What's more, Tobirama challenges him in poison, the strong challenge him in combat, and the person in his dreams challenges him for possession of his body. Life is just so much fun!

Zhengdao: I'll kill them all! (gritting his teeth)

Looks like he'll have to plunge the court into chaos, start a war, and put the resources of the entire shinobi world to work for him.

Then, before he leaves,

he'll conveniently, no, thoroughly, get rid of the accursed Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha!

...But what did you just say? The guy working with me is Hashirama Senju?

Looking at the cultivation supplies he bought from a merchant who was Hashirama in disguise, Zhengdao sneers.

Very well. The Senju Clan has earned its death sentence.

Before Hashirama Senju dies, Zhengdao will squeeze every last bit of value out of him.

Many years later.

Konoha Ninja: Lord Sang, the Fuuma clan head is here again, asking you to take the Fuuma name and inherit the clan!

Zhengdao: ...

Konoha Ninja: Lord Yama, those nobles have invited you to another banquet!

Zhengdao: …

Konoha Ninja: Lord Zhengdao, so many people inside and outside the village want to give you presents!

Zhengdao: …

Konoha Ninja: Lord Zhengdao! (pounding on the barrier) The Uchiha Alliance Leader and Lord Hokage are fighting outside the village, and we can't catch up with them! Please go break it up!

Zhengdao: I'm not going! I'm not breaking it up! Get lost!!!

→ The protagonist is a native, a villain, and a poison-wielding close-combat, area-attack speed type. Everyone except the protagonist is building a village.

→ There's no logic, just XP. While writing, I suddenly realized I'm here to write XP, so the beginning isn't very XP-heavy, but it gets that way from time to time later on.

→ Includes conquest and unification, exploration and farming, controlling daimyo, and a transition from slavery to feudalism. If there are no better options, we won't reform. A transmigrator on our side wants to live a good life, gets furious, and gives the shinobi world a vicious kick.

Note: The protagonist is absent from the story for a while at one point.

→ Confirmed no CP. The protagonist has absolutely no romantic instincts and cares only about poison.

→ But there are implied arrows of affection toward the protagonist, interest-based pairings, random bystanders shipping people, romantic tension between characters who seem too compatible, people gazing at the beautiful male protagonist, and the protagonist's desire for control.

→ Side characters have several purely ambiguous or confession-involving side CPs, but these are only mentioned in passing.

→ References: Early The Scroll of Taiwu, later Renegade Immortal.

The Scroll of Taiwu references: early and mid-story techniques, all the poison arts, and the worldbuilding in the dream sequences.

Renegade Immortal references: the longevity aspects of the techniques, the parts where Hokage jutsu mix with spiritual energy, and especially the later self-reflection material.

*This is not a Qidian novel.JPG

1. Plot-driven, with a power-up and growth arc. No logic, just XP.

The protagonist's inner keywords: evil / ruthless / wild / proud / indifferent / deeply loyal but solitary / bratty / queen (strikethrough). Appearance keywords: alluring / handsome / gloomy / brooding / sinister / murderous / terrifying / sickly / male ghost (strikethrough). Other keywords: selective cleanliness, selective male bodhisattva behavior, and selective hand-fetish fanservice.

2. The protagonist isn't a good person in many ways. Good kids, don't imitate him. Just read about it in a novel, and definitely don't copy him!

3. This rewrite is only to fulfill my long-held wish to finish the story. I've forgotten nine-tenths of the Hokage setting, so if anything conflicts with the original, please consider it an alternate interpretation. I hope you'll understand.

4. Since the original has very little content about the Warring States period, this story, especially the Hyuga Clan portions, contains lots of original worldbuilding and characters.

5. Zhengdao Hyuga uses martial arts techniques early on, then has cultivation and spiritual self-reflection arcs later. Poison arts and techniques are inspired by the Chinese original game The Scroll of Taiwu. Zhengdao's later cultivation as an immortal is inspired by Renegade Immortal.

6. Zhengdao is truly single, with no romantic instincts and no interest in anything naughty. The story may include: a protagonist who doesn't dress properly (and doesn't care who looks); a protagonist who touches people without asking (stroking the back of the neck to assert control); joking character pairings in any combination of CP and CB, regardless of orientation, such as Zhengdao's fanatical followers randomly pairing people up (he either doesn't care or has fists of steel); and interrupting couples in the middle of sex (without realizing how bizarre it is to threaten someone in bed), among other things.

Theme: What's wrong with the shinobi world having a better life?!
