You Have to Kiss Me

Jiao Er and Pei Nanqiang are famous for being inseparable at the theater school compound.

When they were little, Pei Nanqiang was always falling over when he walked. Every time, Jiao Er helped him up and blew on his scrapes. "There, it won't hurt anymore."

When they grew up, Pei Nanqiang became the one who looked after Jiao Er, helping her find holiday jobs and chase off her suitors like pesky flies.

They agreed to study pingju opera together and carry on their parents' legacy, but Jiao Er suddenly changed her mind and enrolled in special education.

Everyone said Jiao Er was a crazy girl who changed her mind on a whim, but Pei Nanqiang stood firmly by her side.

"Our Jiao Jiao is a wonderful girl, as dazzling as a rainbow!"

The year Jiao Er opened a rehabilitation school for children with autism, Pei Nanqiang won the Golden Plum Blossom Award and became a new-generation leading man in pingju opera. He turned down media interviews and fan meet-and-greets, all to take part in a charity performance for "Children of the Stars."

After the charity performance, Jiao Er came onstage to present him with flowers. Pei Nanqiang stepped forward, only to trip over the microphone stand.

Jiao Er blew on his scrape, then heard him say, "You have to kiss me. That's the only way it'll stop hurting."

"There are too many people here." Jiao Er helped him up. "We'll go home and kiss as much as you like."

A few notes:

1. This is entirely fictional. The female and male leads are the same age, each other's first and only love, and exclusive to one another. Happy ending.
