Why Is the Sentinel So Sick?

[New BG sentinel-guide novel, Her Sentinel Was Reborn, now available for advance follows. Please add it to your collection!]

[Xia Meng × Li Zhou]

[A spirited, daring female Guide who seems composed and level-headed but is actually a gambler × a handsome, tragic male Sentinel who seems cheerful but is just as unhinged]

Xia Meng is a psychiatry intern.

One day, she suddenly awakens as a Guide.

The day after her awakening, the mysterious sentinel-guide organization, the Black Tower, comes knocking and invites her to work there.

The new job pays well, is easy, and is close to home. She can sip tea, read the paper, and collect bonuses. Hesitating for even a second would be disrespectful to such a golden opportunity.

She never expected that every patient she encountered from then on would be more bizarre than the last.

At first glance, they seem healthy, lively, warm, and friendly. Get to know them, though, and you'll find they're all rare, advanced cases.

Black Tower: "A Sentinel on the verge of going berserk has a mental landscape like a minefield, chaotic, bizarre, and fraught with danger. We need your mental strength to enter their world, cross the strange and ever-changing minefield, and bring them back safely."

Xia Meng: "Are you sure you haven't mistaken me for someone else? I'm just an ordinary psychologist!"

Black Tower: "? Are you sure you haven't mistaken yourself for someone else?"

Then come survivor syndrome, Stockholm syndrome, Alice in Wonderland syndrome, time-travel syndrome, Cotard's syndrome... One deranged world after another comes rushing in.

Other doctors use medication and surgery to cure the sick and save lives, working miracles.

She works as a doctor carrying guns and knives, scheming and fighting to escape with her life...

Every time she makes a house call, she goes crazy while saving people.

Xia Meng: "?? Wait! This isn't what we agreed on!"

Black Tower: "Perhaps you should first ask yourself why you wouldn't settle for being a perfectly good psychologist and insisted on becoming a psychiatrist."

Xia Meng: "...Because if you can't beat them, you might as well join them!"

Stay away from me. Don't look at me. Don't be curious about me.

You don't know that you're gazing into the abyss.
