After Becoming a Cook in a Small Town in Another World

This forest is home to many tiny people.

Not far from the forest is a town. There is a pier to the east, where seagulls gather at dusk, giving the town its name: Seagull Town.

Xia Nian is a cook in Seagull Town, though not a very good one.

Luckily, her employer is a kind doctor who can eat anything she makes. Xia Nian is incredibly grateful to have survived in this other world.

She would be even happier if he weren't so fussy.

As winter was drawing to a close, a heavy rainstorm fell on Seagull Town.

Xia Nian had gone on a house call with Liang Muxing without bringing an umbrella, so she was forced to take shelter under Miss Mole's eaves.

The rain poured down in torrents.

Xia Nian stared blankly at the curtain of rain. From the corner of her eye, she saw Liang Muxing set down his medical case, lean halfway out, and feel around in the grass beyond the eaves.

He searched for a long time without finding anything, and his upper body was soaked. Feeling kind, she asked, "Are you looking for something? Do you need help?"

She thought he had lost one of his instruments.

Liang Muxing murmured in reply. After a while, he returned holding a pink morning glory. He poured the rainwater out of its blossom, wiped it dry, and turned it upside down on her head, adjusting its position. "This way, you won't get rained on."

Xia Nian touched the soft, slightly damp petals and said helplessly, "Don't go out for something so trivial next time." They would both end up soaked anyway.

Liang Muxing smiled, his voice gentle. "But I think you'd look lovely wearing it."

Xia Nian: "..."

She turned to look at the endless rain and muttered softly, "...Not a chance."

But her face slowly turned red.
