[An early, rough work. Not recommended.] Princess Jiang Fushi of the Jade Lotus was ordered to marry Ao Mu, chieftain of the Qiongle Tribe. Rumor had it that Ao Mu was cruel by nature, and that many of his concubines had met untimely deaths.
She thought she would never return, but on the way to the wedding, an unfamiliar man appeared among her guards.
He was tall and straight-backed, with a cold, stern face, and barely spoke throughout the journey. Only when assassins launched a sudden attack did he draw his blade, spilling blood across his clothes, his eyes fierce with killing intent as he shielded her behind him.
On their wedding night, Ao Mu approached, reeking of wine. Jiang Fushi closed her eyes in despair, only to hear a sword cut through the air. Ao Mu crashed to the ground, his blood soaking the wedding quilt embroidered with mandarin ducks.
Only then did she learn that the man before her was no ordinary guard. He was the foremost assassin, with countless lives to his name, a notorious killer feared throughout the martial world.
Knowing he killed without blinking, Jiang Fushi still forced down her trembling and gently tugged at his sleeve, pleading softly, "Please, take me with you."
She thought he would abandon her, but then he suddenly asked, "Aren't you afraid to come with me?"
Of course Jiang Fushi was afraid, but to stay alive, she had no choice but to lie through her teeth.
"I'm not afraid."
She had no idea what cracks those simple three words opened in his frozen heart. From then on, as they fled for their lives, he never let her suffer the slightest grievance. In freezing weather, when even reaching out made your hands go numb, the man would open his fur coat and wrap her tightly inside, keeping the northern wind from touching her.
Their footprints sank unevenly into the snow. The road ahead stretched into the distance, when the man suddenly lowered his head, his warm breath brushing her ear. "Hold on tight. Don't fall, my princess."

Although, why did the male protagonist kiss her so quickly? It was as fast as his sword.
The article is halfway through, and the introductory content has not yet appeared. I originally came here for the copywriting. I wanted to see the man and woman fleeing the world. As a result, the male protagonist does not appear in as many scenes as the maids next to the female protagonist. May I ask why it doesn't start with getting married and then running away? Even if there is some foreshadowing, it has been more than 20 chapters and I have been writing about the female protagonist fighting with the queen. No wonder no one has read it. I was tricked by the copywriter into reading a few chapters and then ran away...
It's so ruthless. The goal has been achieved. Why care about the life and death of the chess pieces? It won't affect his plan. He is not allowed to hinder the young couple 😭
