The Golden Cudgel

The staff was forged from nine-turn patterned iron, tempered by the Lord Laozi himself in his furnace. King Yu obtained this divine treasure and named it, its power tested across the four seas and eight rivers.

Stars were secretly laid out along its middle, while golden bands wrapped around both ends. Its intricate patterns astonished gods and ghosts, and dragons and phoenixes were engraved upon it.

It was called the Spirit Sun Staff, hidden deep beneath the sea where no one could find it. Once formed, it could transform and soar, trailing clouds of five-colored radiance.

Sun Shiwu complained, “Can't you make more meat dishes?”

Ji Ling looked at the table, which was almost entirely covered with meat dishes, with only a few vegetables here and there. She could only sigh helplessly. “...You should eat more vegetables, too. You can't just eat meat all the time.”

“Mind your own business!”

“If you don't want me to, who else is going to cook for you?”
