A Concubine's Life in the Inner Chambers

Lighthearted version:

As the illegitimate daughter Liu Xiangwan comes of age, she's forced to get caught up in the schemes and deceit of the inner household. Suddenly, everyone in the Liu residence feels a sense of crisis...

Master sighs: She's so calculating!

Madam seethes: She's so good at playing dumb!

Her sisters rage: She's so good at pretending to be weak while hiding her strength!

Her brothers adore her: She's so gentle and lovable!

Her future husband: My teeth are strong, and I like this type!

Liu Xiangwan twists her fingers and looks at them pitifully. "None of that applies to me!"

Period-drama version:

Liu Xiangwan was born into the body of an uncherished illegitimate daughter in the prefect's household. In short, her life is miserable: her father can't be relied on, her mother is out of favor, the madam seems virtuous, and her sisters are always competing. To survive in this treacherous inner household, she must keep a low profile, flatter those around her, and amass a fortune. Only then can she protect her mother and younger brother...

This is a 1v1, purely an inner-household struggle, with no golden finger and no Mary Sue.

Theme: Women in the inner household can hold up their own corner of the world.
