Maple Love (Prince of Tennis Fanfic)

Blurb:

Her life was just like a series of plays.

When the curtain rose, she was nothing more than a girl who wanted to escape the torment of illness. Her only wish was...

Act One: Her new life was once again accompanied by the illness she despised, but being by his side gave her a reason to keep going. He was her salvation, and her faith.

Act Two: She tried to give up her obsession with him, but the more she tried to escape, the deeper she sank. So she chose a false dream, refusing to hope or ask for more.

Act Three: At last, her family returned to their homeland and arrived at the "stage" in her memories. She once again had to face the insurmountable gulf between them, but something else had also become impossible to suppress.

The Final Act: His amnesia was her last delusion. Lies wrapped in sugar were unbelievably sweet, but they were also deadly poison. Yet for her, there was only ever one thing to say: "Everything you gave me, I accepted willingly."

Behind the scenes, perhaps... there was still time.

He and she had been complementary opposites since the moment they were born.

More than once, she had agonized over why they had to be twins. And more than once, she had been grateful: because we are twins.

As their days unfolded like a script, caught in an endless spiral of contradictions, he ascended to the throne of tennis while she stepped onto the scaffold of illness.

The curtain was finally about to fall on this play called life.

"Hey, live proudly for both of us."

Notes:

1. The female lead is an original character. Her transmigration into the role of Echizen Ryoma's twin is my own setting and has nothing to do with the original work.

2. This is a story about twins. Please read with caution if that bothers you.

3. The male lead is Echizen Ryoma. This is firmly a one-on-one romance.

4. There may be angst, depending on how things go.

5. I will try to keep all characters true to their original personalities, but may write them out of character when the story calls for it. Please read with caution if that bothers you.

6. The overall plot will follow the Prince of Tennis manga. There will be original content, and some plot points may be changed as needed, but the story will not involve the TV series or The New Prince of Tennis.

7. The female lead will probably be frail and sickly, and a scheming little green tea type [xxx, not really]. I may get carried away by my own emotions and turn her into a villain who bullies certain female characters from the original work, so I'm also tagging this as possibly Mary Sue. Please read with caution.

8. Special note: LY fans and YN fans are advised not to click in and read. I accept no responsibility if you find it upsetting.

That's all for now.
