Ballad of the Western Moon

On the Ping'an Continent, there are two kinds of people.

One kind is ordinary people, who have no soul power or whose soul power fails to meet the requirements. The other kind can awaken their soul power and become Onmyoji, able to summon shikigami to fight.

Seven-year-old Xiyue stood on the testing platform and used her soul power to probe the void. After a long while, she extended her right hand, and a ball of light appeared.

As the light faded, a small shell appeared in her hand. Inside sat an adorable little girl, no bigger than her palm, with a fish tail.

"Is this... a Shouzu?"

"A rare shikigami, only a little above the common N-rank?"

"It can't deal damage or control enemies. It's completely useless as a bonded spirit!"

The little Shouzu, called "useless" by the people below the platform, pouted, looking a little hurt.

"But..." Xiyue glanced at her left hand, wanting to say something.

The Grand Elder interrupted her: "Your aptitude is below average. You'll receive a third-tier allowance."

"But..." Xiyue couldn't get another word out before someone shoved her off the testing platform.

Everyone's attention had already shifted to the next person being tested.

"But..." Xiyue slowly opened her left hand. Inside was another translucent ball of light. "I have another spirit, too."

But no one noticed her.

Leveling up and face-slapping? Playing dumb to catch the tiger?

No, no, this is a very serious romance novel

**The shikigami summoning skills are based on the shikigami in Onmyoji.

**This world comes from the author's imagination. All kinds of monsters and ghosts coexist, and their existence is perfectly reasonable.
