Madman's Diary

Maybe it was just my imagination. In the reflection of the glass, I vaguely saw the smile on my homeroom teacher's face as he stood with his back to me grow wider and wider, until it stretched all the way to his ears. A mouthful of fine teeth gleamed with a sharp, icy light. I must have been going crazy. I had actually seen a face in the glass, most of it covered by a grin!

That usually kind face was now covered in a hideous, malicious smile.

I stared in terror at my homeroom teacher's back, afraid he'd suddenly turn around and lunge at me to eat me.

Thankfully, he never turned around, even as the grinning face in the glass disappeared. When he handed me my graduation certificate, he wore his usual kind smile.
