Daily Life Raising Kids in a Dark Honmaru

[The old premise wasn't working anymore, so I'm changing it. Sorry!]

After running away from home to escape constant bullying, Toyama Haruka got hustled by a little fox.

The little fox, its face covered in strange patterns, flicked its tail and eagerly started making grand promises.

Haruka didn't understand a word, but he knew he wouldn't have to go hungry anymore.

Let's go! Right now! It couldn't possibly be worse than the Zenin family!

Haruka arrived at the dark Honmaru with all his belongings, only to find swords glaring at him, a dilapidated garden, and an empty rice bin. His world came crashing down.

Haruka: I've been scammed QAQ

He filled the cracked earth with spiritual energy, picked the shriveled persimmons from the tree, and used the only ingredients available to make dinner.

Then he slid open the door and asked the swords peeking in from outside, "Want to eat with me?"

Sayo, given his favorite persimmons: "..."

Ichigo, unable to bring himself to hurt a young master about the same age as his little brother: "..."

Kiyomitsu, looking at a master with even more wounds than they had: "..."

Chotoku, looking at the kitchen he'd blown up: "..."

Haruka, who'd only been trying to get himself a bite to eat: OvO

Once the Honmaru was up and running, Haruka had to start elementary school.

There, he met Fushiguro Megumi, who was grumpy but kindhearted.

Haruka, moved to tears after being steeped in the Honmaru's brotherly culture: Brother! You're my brother!

Fushiguro Megumi: I'm not... Whatever...

Later, they found out they really were brothers.

Distant cousins, to be precise.

Just as life was starting to get better, Haruka ran into the father who had sold him.

This time, his father wanted to sell his swords.

Haruka remembered being beaten and having the money he'd earned taken from him. His body trembled, and he couldn't fight back.

But...

He no longer begged his father for affection.

So don't even dream of taking anything from him.

Give his swords...

back!

Spiritual energy swept through the Zenin estate.
