(Golden Light) Dancing Flames

So many years have passed.

You have lived in my wounds all this time.

I have let go of heaven and earth,

but I have never let go of you.

Across the mountains and rivers of my life,

I will let you bid farewell to each one.

In this world,

what is there besides life and death

that isn't trivial?

One chance encounter gone wrong led to a lifetime of loss. If I could live it over, I would never let go of your hand, no matter who you were then.

I only want to quietly find an heir, then quietly pass away. Why is that so hard?

[PS]

1. A story idea I've been saving.

2. The author's writing is a little rough. Characterization may be out of character.

3. A short story? One of those I'll finish someday.
