Please check out my upcoming books, The Cat Who Was My Partner in the Seventies and Even the Worst Can Serve Their Country. Their blurbs are below.
Synopsis: She transmigrates to the resource-scarce seventies, where even putting food on the table is a problem. What can she do? With the help of a System, escaping poverty and building a better life are no problem! The heroine trades in antiques and swaps for delicious food. It's simply exhilarating!
The Cat Who Was My Partner in the Seventies
Qing Lan, who has left school and returned to her village, finds a cat with a broken leg on the road. Its coat is pure white, and even injured, it still looks majestic.
She carefully carries it home, plays with it, cuddles it to sleep, and even gives it half of her two-grain flatbread.
Qing Lan's mother looks at her daughter, who's nearly eighteen and still loves to play. "Lan, stop thinking about going back to school. Girls your age in the village already have children. I'll ask your aunt to introduce you to someone..."
Crash! The kitten kicks the family's only celadon jar off a high shelf. Furious, Qing Lan's mother grabs a broom and chases it around the courtyard.
Qing Lan scoops up the kitten she'd hidden away and affectionately rubs its head, dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth.
"You're the clever one. You knew how to save me."
The white cat narrows its eyes in bliss and stretches out its little paws smugly.
In autumn, a flood washes away the land belonging to Qing Lan's family before they can harvest it. Her mother clutches Qing Lan's hand and cries.
"Girl, at least meet him. Your aunt says he has a government job. He's a real catch."
Qing Lan looks at her father, bedridden for a long time, and her young, clueless siblings, then grits her teeth.
The white cat has disappeared. Qing Lan searches everywhere she can think of, then weeps as she holds the little cloth pouch she'd made for it.
A few days later, the matchmaker comes by to arrange a match for Qing Lan. "The young man will pay for your father's treatment. He has only one condition: he wants Qing Lan to go back to school."
That alone is enough for Qing Lan to agree. She peeks through the swaying curtain and sees a man sitting in the main room, tall, handsome, and dazzlingly fair.
As if he knows she's watching, the man smiles and glances through the crack in the curtain. That one look makes Qing Lan's heart flutter. Goodness, why are his eyes like a cat's? They make her heart race...
Cats are born hunters: aloof, sensitive, stubborn, and fiercely proud. They act like kings around everyone else, but with the one special person, they become so affectionate they seem to want to hold you in their heart.
Even the Worst Can Serve Their Country
Su Qing is bound to a patriotism System and must travel to different worlds to carry out the sacred mission of serving her country.
System: Increase the affection people around you feel for you. Once it reaches the required level, you can learn a skill and serve your country, making life better for its people.
Su Qing: No problem! Everyone around me likes me, so reaching the target will be easy.
The System chuckles and, unusually, says nothing.
Su Qing immediately senses something is off. "Is there something you're not telling me?"
The System murmurs, "It's the Worst-Case Patriotism System. You have to reform the awful people and earn the approval of those around them to complete your missions..."
Su Qing... I think you're the worst one of all!
World One: The dreadful old woman in a period novel feeds the people by farming! (Don't fear the famine. With the old woman around, every family will have grain to spare!)
World Two: A terrible mama's boy joins the army and becomes an all-around ace soldier through sheer perseverance and skill! (I'm an ace soldier, and I'm awesome!)
World Three: The awful sister-in-law becomes a master physician! (Who has time to obsess over her brother and sister-in-law? I'm busy saving patients with difficult illnesses!)
I'll turn the worst people into paragons everyone admires. I build my country, and I'm proud of it!
Theme:
This is the tide turning.
I'm so annoyed with this stepmother! The hero's father is an idiot!
What a stupid supporting actress.
Feng shui takes turns. Hahahaha. It's so funny.
I finished reading it in one go, it was so cool
Great, the fine tradition at the end is okay hhhhh
It's good to read. I've been enjoying reading periodicals from this time period lately.
It looks good, but the confession part is not satisfying~ Bury it and blow up the author!
It looks good, but the confession part is not satisfying~
Although the ending is so sudden... Congratulations on the ending??????
