The Down-on-Her-Luck Lucky Carp Leaps Through the Dragon Gate

Emperor Longyuan has no son to succeed him, so he plans to choose an heir from among the imperial clan. This stirs up fierce rivalries and intrigue among the relatives. Yu Xi accidentally rescues a young gentleman in trouble. Later, when she enters the city to look for her family, she also goes to find him, only to be stunned! The son of a salt merchant, as promised? This is clearly a koi in distress, about to leap through the Dragon Gate! He's way out of her league. Timid Yu Xi immediately takes her leave: Sorry to bother you! But he pulls her into his arms. "You said you'd let me repay you. I can't go back on my word." Fine, then! Just as Yu Xi is about to accept a bank draft, she feels something heavy in her hand. A jade seal with a golden chi dragon and tiger handle has landed in her palm... Not only is this thing heavy, it's burning hot! Yu Xi pleads miserably: Can I refuse? Cheng Jin smiles warmly and immediately orders an eunuch to find out what the punishment is for an empress who runs away from her wedding. Terrified, she hurries back to placate him. "I was just being polite. You didn't have to take me seriously!" My Weibo: Xiao Xiang Zhuzi Theme:
