My Husband Is a Peacock

By chance, Yu He discovered a scroll depicting a white peacock. Strangely enough, she could enter the peacock clan depicted inside. The other peacocks were blue or green, all boasting brilliant colors and precious feathers. But the seventh prince of the clan, Qian Lan, was actually a white peacock!

Without bright plumage, he had been treated as an oddity by his own kind since childhood. After enduring countless cold stares, Qian Lan was tainted by resentment. His eyes held no color, only gloom.

Only one girl, named Yu He, appeared mysteriously by his side every night. Holding an ivory comb, she brushed his silver-white hair and gently encouraged him:

"Only one white peacock is born in every ten thousand. You're different from them. You're not some lowly monster. You're the most noble king of the peacock clan!"

Her comfort cracked a gap in Qian Lan's sturdy walls. He began to look forward to her visits, wanting every night to keep her by his side, gaze at her moonlike brows and starry eyes, and listen to her gentle words.

From then on, Qian Lan's fighting spirit rekindled, and he began vying for power. But Yu He mysteriously disappeared and did not return for a long time, because someone had torn up her painting of the white peacock...
