The Demon-Slaying Brothers Are Still Broke Today

A pair of demon-hunting brothers live at Lingyun Temple in the hills behind town. The brothers are poor, and their temple is always falling apart. Even the magical treasures they use to hunt demons are just table legs, teapot lids, and door beams. The senior brother, Tao Sigui, is an otherworldly figure, like an exiled immortal. The junior brother, Qi Ye, spends all day acting like a street thug. Today, the people of Jinzao County have once again seen the senior brother rushing to the gambling house to drag his junior brother out. [Everyday Demon-Hunting Adventures of the Brothers] A tiger demon appears, and Tao Sigui takes out a short sword carved from a chair leg. A snake demon appears, and Qi Ye brandishes a cleaver with several chips in its blade. An evil spirit appears, and Tao Sigui produces talismans carved into a door beam. A stone monster appears, and Qi Ye pulls out a hammer for cracking walnuts. Uninformed townsfolk (thumbs up): Experts are amazing! Anything can be a magical treasure! Tao Sigui/Qi Ye (crying): We're poor! We really are poor! Theme: Never give up on what you truly believe in.
