Who Sends the Sword Wind Through the Jade Flute?

Don't read this! It's a 15-year-old draft!! The writing and style are both immature.

Blurb:

Drunk on the battlefield, I laugh at the storms of life. With deft hands, I bring the dead back to life as smoke and ash scatter.

Swords and blades are merciless, but you are dear to me.

One-on-one, angst, outrageous melodrama, first-person narration, early middle-school-level writing.

[My ongoing novel, No Puppet, is looking for favorites. Blurb below!]

A shameless, over-the-top, troublemaking drama queen of a puppet bottom x a cold, ascetic, poker-faced, secretly flirtatious top who says one thing but means another.

The poker-faced senior brother has been in a terrible mood lately.

A human-shaped puppet who freeloads and scams his way through life has barged into his home. Every day, he throws tantrums and rolls around on the floor. All he does is mooch food and sleep!

The poker-faced senior brother finally loses patience and forcibly sends him out to find work...

Then, in a moment of blindness, he gets the puppet tricked into becoming the main attraction at a brothel.

A few days later, the puppet returns with a haul of new tricks. Not only has he learned to shamelessly wheedle and play the hooligan, he's also become utterly convinced of one thing:

Puppet: Men are all ungrateful jerks.

Poker Face: So are you.

Luckily, Heaven has eyes, and the awful brothel eventually goes out of business.

Poker Face: I'll take you in for one last night. Don't come back tomorrow.

Puppet (sending a pitiful pleading look): Down-on-his-luck pretty boy x delicate and soft x homeless.

Poker Face: ...Fine, two nights.

And so, the puppet naturally moved into the poker-faced senior brother's home...

Into his wardrobe.

Well-fed, warm, and wanting for nothing. Knock if you need anything, but don't expect him to come out of the closet.

Junior disciples: Looks like Senior Brother's keeping a wife in the closet.

Poker Face: Looks like I'm keeping a son in the closet.

Everyone says puppets have no heart or feelings, and love to play along for show.

The poker-faced senior brother also says: This puppet has not a single redeeming quality. He does nothing all day and eats his fill from morning to night. And on top of that, he's an incorrigible drama queen.

Puppet: In this materialistic world, people's hearts are cold and merciless. Only a drama queen like me can bring you a little warmth.

Poker Face: ...So could you stop acting on my behalf?

One-on-one, with a living man as the top and a puppet as the bottom. A growing-up romance, all sweetness and doting, with a happy ending!
