Has This World Finally Gone Mad?

On the day the apocalypse officially began, the government found Wang Xinghe before the monsters did. They offered him an outrageously generous salary and asked him to become a full-fledged member of the Investigation Bureau. "Me? Are you sure?" The visitor assured him they were, then listed Wang Xinghe's various experiences before the apocalypse. As a hotline operator, he had calmly dealt with countless bizarre prank calls, thinking the callers were all just crazy people pulling a joke. He held several jobs, had seemingly boundless energy, and could handle pressure. When an unknown boss carrying a human head showed up at the dessert shop where he worked part-time, he stalled for time and even called the police to have them arrested. After a coworker bit him, he still calmly handled the situation, refusing to believe anything was wrong, and even fought back. After killing his coworker, he did not panic or run away. He called the police and faced reality. All of this proved that he was simply perfect for a job that required an exceptionally strong constitution. Wang Xinghe: ... No, I really did think they were all just crazy people at first! I had no idea the world was actually going insane! But the apocalypse had just begun, and the government needed capable people, so Wang Xinghe closed his eyes and took the job. At first, even the person who nominated Wang Xinghe thought he was just an ordinary guy with impressive mental fortitude and nothing else special about him. Later, the nominator and the remaining survivors came to understand that he was practically a god to humanity, the first line of defense that humanity could never lose. From the male lead's perspective: (a little skit) QAQ The first time I met the person I love, he thought I was crazy... *sobs* A recipient who is half-crazy from being worked to death x a genuinely inhuman, abnormal, crazy attacker 1. Lots of creative liberties, so please don't compare it to reality. 2. The original premise is unchanged. I just changed the title! 3. The attacker is nameless at first. He really doesn't have a name until the middle or later part of the story. (Please give the novel a bookmark, pretty please! QAQ) Theme: Even in adversity, keep breaking through the earth and being reborn, again and again.
