Below the Ruler and His Ministers

Ancient Yelang: The Zhu clan, a people who revered shamans. Little else can be verified from the historical record. In 278 BC, the Zhuang clan defeated Qielan, entered Dian, and proclaimed themselves kings, bringing their army to Yelang's borders. That night, the Milky Way stretched across the sky, spanning tens of thousands of miles. The leader, clad in armor, looked up from among countless troops at a figure in a blazing red wedding dress atop the city wall. Their eyes met. Their battle intent was fierce, and the crack of whips echoed grimly. With a roar rising from behind, the figure sat upright on horseback and caught the pair of steel whips flying toward them. A cold smile spread across their lips. The war drums gradually fell silent. A voice like broken jade rose lazily, its bone-deep chill reaching the heavens. "Your subject, Shang Yu, pays his respects to my king." * Behind the talented scholar and the beauty are two well-dressed beasts. - [Notice] 1. The ancient state of Yelang is used as a model. Everything else is fictional, and the history is not particularly rigorous. 2. Official titles draw on the Western Zhou and Warring States periods, along with some things I made up (I'll explain in an author's note in one of the chapters). 3. A gentle gentleman (crossed out) and a... empress with a black heart and dark eyes. Neither of these two rulers is a good person. 4. I've recently become fond of flashbacks. I'll give you a heads-up before one arrives. 5. The outline has gone off track, and I'm working hard to fill in the holes. I bow in thanks to you all.
