An immense tide of sand swallowed the colors of life, surging in like a flood of swords into a water-city frozen in ice and buried in snow. Rootless water marked humanity’s books and sandy lands with the tearstains of a departed river god. (Xuehuang City is covered in solid, unbreakable ice.)
The Admonitions of Yiyou include the Xianghuang Chapters, which discuss the laws of cosmic evolution (Tianyan, Yandui, Yuanyan, and Jiyan); the Shangli Chapters, which record social order (Bloodlines, Rites and Sacrifices, Military Defense, and Customs); the Xihe Chapters, which explain the stars, calendars, and regions (Starry Cosmos, Stars, Stellar Alignment, and Stellar Origins); and the Qinghui Chapters, which describe personal abilities (Four Systems, Cluster Patterns, Facial Markings, and Martial Arts). There are also the Qiuchuan Chapters, which describe the vessels of civilization (Inscribed Bronze, Passing Winds, Inherited Words, and Reflected Light). In addition, the Cangyao Chapters discuss language (Source Language, Symbol Language, Star Language, and Object Language). Other details have yet to be written and will be added after publication.
