A Minister's Lasting Regret

Master Huiren, the most renowned monk in the Great Qi Kingdom, read the fortune of the newborn Xie Xiuyuan:

His heart longs for peace, yet knows no calm; tangled threads will cloud his whole life.

Born a man, he stands in the world with fervent purpose; only the emperor's lifelong regret can bring him peace.

After that, the Third Miss of the Xie family became the Seventh Young Master of the Xie family.

The Seventh Young Master Xie earned a reputation for virtue at a young age. His medical skills, inherited from the monk Huiren, were so extraordinary they could be called the pinnacle of perfection.

As famous as his medical skills was a charming topic of ladies' gossip: it was said that the Seventh Young Master Xie was handsome and refined, with grace that came naturally.

In the eighteenth year of Yongxi, as spring blossomed, the Seventh Young Master Xie returned to the capital at his parents' behest to attend a birthday celebration.

With that single trip to the capital came a clash between sovereign and subject, coups in two kingdoms, the joys and sorrows of three generations, and half a lifetime of laughter and tears.

It was all here!
