[Mostly Gujian] Mars Guarding the Heart

Xiang Ying got herself a father, and he happened to be the ruler of Qingqiu, a pureblood nine-tailed blue fox. Unfortunately, he was still hung up on the mortal woman he once loved, so he hardly paid her any attention. Xiang Ying also got herself a mother, and she happened to be Qingqiu's high priestess, who had long since transformed into a Heartmoon Red Fox. Unfortunately, she had steeled herself to sever all ties of love, and aside from her priestly duties, she never spared Xiang Ying a second glance. As for Xiang Ying herself, she bore the title of Qingqiu's princess without much feeling either way. Her fur was pure white, but she refused to take after anyone. Only the tips of her nine tails had a touch of pale red, and a streak of ink marked her brow. "I only wanted to practice on someone, by bewitching the future ruler of a little border town. Who could have known I'd eventually get the nerve to cross the river of time and even bring Fuxi, the biggest boss in Heaven, crashing down?" The foolish fox Xiang Ying, recorded in the annals of Qingqiu Author's headcanon and content warning: The ancient kingdom of Penglai is a merfolk realm, and Princess Xun Fang is a mermaid. The story begins with Snowflake Goddess Dragon. To save Ming Ri, the female lead transmigrates through time to Gu Jian. Because of her nine-tailed features, she is hailed as Qingqiu's princess, meant to stabilize the kingdom as it teeters on the brink. Theme: A belated tribute to the ten-year-old double-Ouyang pairing.
