Could You Be Gentle, Just This Once?

[My novel, Don't Be Too Wild, is now available. Check out my profile.] [Blurb] In her sophomore year, a new student joined the department. Rumor had it that he came from an incredibly powerful family, and his looks were practically cheating. Ever since he was a kid, countless girls had fallen for him while trying to win his heart. One day in the cafeteria, Shu Rou passed him by. He stopped and let his gaze drift lightly over her. Watching Tang Yiheng walk away, her roommate asked curiously, "Do you know each other?" With so many people around, Shu Rou calmly replied, "No," hoping to avoid being pestered with another love letter. Not long afterward, she was cornered in a dim alcove in the teaching building. The man's peach-blossom eyes narrowed slightly as he fixed his gaze on her. His voice was irresistibly flirtatious. "You gave me a love letter back then, and now you don't know me? Hmm?" She confessed her feelings, but he turned her down without hesitation. "Sorry, I'm not looking to date." She didn't take it to heart. "You still have to give me a chance." "Sure. One hundred meters." Chen Qingji said no more, just gestured toward the track in the distance. "Beat me in a race." Liang Fengyu stared at the sky in exasperation. Chen Qingji laughed, thinking that was the end of it. But one day, she showed up and challenged him to a race. Chen Qingji sauntered onto the track, considering giving her a few seconds' head start so she wouldn't lose too badly. But as soon as the starting gun fired, a dozen boys from the track team rushed over and pinned him firmly to the track. He could only watch as Liang Fengyu slowly made her way around the track and crouched in front of him, her eyes and brows dancing with amusement. "Chen Qingji, do you keep your word?"
