Visit my author page and favorite my new story, Notes on the Eldest Son of a Convict Entering the Civil Service Through the Exams.
On the first day high school entrance exam results came out, a certain top science student from a province had just received his score when he died.
He died, but not entirely.
He transmigrated into a scholarly family bearing the surname Zhuo and became the six-year-old eldest grandson of the main branch.
It sounds pretty good, except that the family patriarch had backed the wrong side in a succession struggle and been beheaded. His three promising sons, all with official degrees and bright futures, were exiled to the far northern region of Shuozhou along with the entire family, where they were sentenced to hard labor.
Zhuo Siheng thought he'd been handed a survival-at-all-costs story, so he devoted himself to learning practical survival skills. But a few years later, the new emperor ascended the throne and issued a general amnesty. The Zhuo family was cleared of its status as convicts, but returning to their ancestral home was out of the question. The poor, remote border region of Shuozhou still needed developing, so the family was given civilian status and told to stop complaining.
From then on, the youth decided that if he was no longer the descendant of convicts, he could enter the civil service through the exams. He would change his fate and fight his way back!
After all, he'd transmigrated right after taking the high school entrance exams, when his intelligence was at its peak, and brought a head full of knowledge with him. It was like a kitten meowing with excitement: everything was simply purr-fect!
Unfortunately, he was a science student.
In an era when civil service exams tested only the humanities, changing his fate was as hard as ascending to heaven.
But even if it meant scaling the nine heavens, there was no saying he couldn't make it.
He would climb the sky's dome and seize the Dipper; though heaven stood high above, he would make himself stronger still.
This is a story about a brilliant young man growing strong, rising to the highest ranks of government in a satisfying tale of cultivation. It's also the story of his leading the family of convicts back to its former place among the great clans.
There's some romance, but not much;
there's some farming, but not much;
there's everyday life for a change of pace;
there's a lovely heroine, just one;
but mostly, it's about pursuing a career, with a focus on the civil service exams and officialdom, as well as personal growth and realizing one's ideals;
and, of course, you could also think of it as a kind of historical "competitive story" about taking the exams and becoming an official. That's a neat way to enjoy it.
One-line blurb: Reborn into a disgraced family, he restores its former glory.
Serious blurb:
The Court of Judicial Review interprets the law, the Court of State Ceremonial oversees rites, and the nine ministries and their ministers each have their duties.
There is also the little-known Jade Candle Temple... which was destroyed.
Tang Yunxiang, who should have become the next minister of the Jade Candle Temple, fled for seven years.
In the end, she was swept back onto the crest of the wave, where she belonged.
So here's the question:
From peerless beauty to fugitive, are you still willing to be a guardian?
Silly blurb:
The complete record of the Jade Candle Temple's girl group debut,
from being shelved to becoming a sensation, with all four members revealing their journeys,
and a major exposé of the rumored romance between center Tang Yunxiang and a mysterious young master!
Theme:
The emperor was suspicious, but if he was so suspicious, the end would not be much better.
Shi Mengmeng has since embarked on the road of being a pretty girl with peace of mind
Prince Tang Yunxian held up a crystal slipper and asked Shi Mengmeng, "Is this the shoe you dropped? My dear Cinderella."
Compared to Shi Mengmeng, who couldn't afford a boatman before rowing a boat... From then on, she embarked on the road of being kept.
Why are there so few people in this article? It's obviously very well written, and the emotional line takes up just the right amount of space. Of course I still want to read the extra, haha
I can't bear to part with it! Will Qin Wen and Yun Xian have a small theater?? Qin Wen was obviously the first to save Yun Xian, so he climbed the wall?
What? The end? I thought it was still in the beginning!
I understand, Qin Wen likes Yun Xian, and it was Qin Wen who saved her both times. I feel sorry for Qin Wen. Hahahahahahahahaha
It's a pity that Mu Dai doesn't know martial arts
You start getting worms when I don't come... It's hesitation, not depression...
