He Clings to Me but Says Nothing

Li Shuoluo was a mischievous, energetic girl. In summer, she skipped class to catch fish in the river. In winter, she stuffed snowballs down her homeroom teacher's collar. Three days a week, she had to sit facing the wall in the teachers' office.

There, Yan Jing was waiting to process his withdrawal from school when he saw her. A faint light slowly appeared in his eyes.

Li Shuoluo found herself with Yan Jing stuck to her! The boy recognized neither people nor places. All he knew was to follow her closely, tugging at the hem of her clothes and becoming the little clingy pest she called him.

When people asked Yan Jing something, he never said a word.

Someone mocked Yan Jing as a dumb mute, and Li Shuoluo angrily rolled up her sleeves, ready to hit them. She hadn't even gone half a step when her little clingy pest tugged her back. She met his clear, pure eyes, sparkling with stars.

"But you can talk..." Li Shuoluo said, feeling a little aggrieved. "My little clingy pest is the smartest."

At fourteen, Yan Jing won the country's highest scientific research award. At sixteen, he was preparing to drop out of high school.

He had a severe cognitive disorder. He couldn't interact with ordinary people, much less sense the joys and sorrows, warmth and coldness of the world.

Until that summer--

"My name is Li Shuoluo. The 'shuo' means 'sparkle'! Starting today, I'll sparkle in your life every single day!"

[What I want most is to see the waves you've seen and spend our wild youth together.]
