You’ve Got This Coming

Advance notice: Please add my upcoming novel, I Don’t Want to Climb Up to You, to your favorites! Weibo: @Jinjiang Ye Feiran Blurb: The first time Cheng Yao met Qian Heng, she couldn’t reconcile the man standing before her with his nickname, “the industry’s toxic menace.” He was tall and handsome, with an extraordinary air about him and especially captivating eyes. Cheng Yao refused to believe it. How could someone that good-looking possibly be a menace? Until reality hit her hard. Whenever she secretly watched Qian Heng, studying his every move and trying to learn from him, her boss would say flatly, in an infuriating tone, “You can stop staring. You’ve been watching me for days. If you have time to admire me, you can spend it looking at case files.” “…” You’re imagining things. When she asked for a raise, her boss neither agreed nor refused. But that evening at a party, Qian Heng attended for the first time and personally picked out the song “When the Dream Wakes.” [A little scene]: Cheng Yao got drunk at the annual party, ran onto the stage, grabbed the microphone, and shouted, “What’s the big deal about Qian Heng? So he’s a partner! One day, when I make it big, he’ll do whatever I say! I’ll be the one calling the shots! I, Cheng Yao, will show him what it means to have your day!” No one could ever forget the terrifying expression on Qian Heng’s face in the audience that day… But what they didn’t know was that the next day, Qian Heng cornered Cheng Yao against a wall. Qian Heng said expressionlessly, “Don’t I already do everything you say at home? You can call the shots in private, but not at work. At work, you still have to listen to me.” “…” A workplace story about family law attorneys, with light comedy. Theme: Contributing to the construction of a socialist legal system.
