The story takes place from the mid-to-late 1980s through the end of the 1990s. The leads grew up on an island and were classmates until university. The male lead had always liked the female lead, but could never figure out how she felt. Later, she left the island to attend university, while he stayed behind to work at the island's docks. They argued over whether he should continue his education. She wanted him to go to university and stay in the city to work. He thought working at the docks was great and saw no point in studying. As they grew apart, she got a boyfriend at university, while he went to the Philippines. Their love was full of heartbreak, but neither could forget the other. Many years later, the male lead returned, successful in his career, and happened to join the same company as the female lead, becoming her indirect superior. Their long separation left them doubting what the other had felt in the past. He thought she was a fickle woman, while she thought he was a playboy. The male lead repeatedly expressed his pent-up feelings, jealousy, desire, and resentment by forcibly kissing her. The female lead thought he was a practiced womanizer and grew resentful, so she kept resisting his advances. Both believed the other's body was no longer pure, and this was the root of the female lead's ongoing inner conflict.
