The Yi People

This novel was first published in 2018, and it left too many regrets behind. The author plans to give this book, Witchfolk, a complete overhaul after finishing the currently updating Age of Spirit Tamers. Those who followed the story before need not worry. The main plot will not be changed. The author mainly plans to add some scenes to flesh out the story and characters. Some foreshadowing that got forgotten along the way back then will also be brought back, so the word count will only increase, by at least 100,000 words. In short, the author just wants to get this off their chest. Anyone interested in reading is best off coming back next year. There may be a pleasant surprise. Thank you, everyone. A Su Nan was an ordinary Yi boy. On the day he turned six, he awoke with his mind suddenly opened, and memories of a past life came flooding back. He discovered that he was a wandering soul from another world, and that this place resembled the legendary Miao frontier. Yet this wandering soul from another world had fallen deeply in love with these mountains and rivers... A cozy farming story, not a leveling-up novel, with a pretend coming-of-age romance and no childbirth. This is a "half-and-half" story: half farming and half cultivation of witchcraft. Either way, it's all very fairytale-like and cozy. Author's note: This is not a good-for-nothing story. The protagonist is not a good-for-nothing, and there is no comeback or face-slapping. He has always lived freely and joyfully, but life inevitably brings setbacks and unexpected events, and the protagonist is no exception. In one sentence: A humanities graduate remakes a world of witchcraft. The setting is a world of witchcraft and voodoo. Unfortunately, the male lead and his friends are all little fry, unable to make much of a splash in the early stages. In short: There are storms in this story, but they're small ones. There's fantasy, witchcraft, and voodoo, but all at a fairly low level. There's melodrama, of course, but it's not handled professionally enough to reach the point of vicious feuding. There seems to be political maneuvering too, but it's not palace or household intrigue where lives hang in the balance. This is the story of a bunch of little fry living in a world of witchcraft, working hard to get by amid all the chaos. The male lead meets his partner as a child, and falls in love as a teenager, making them an example of young love (kids, don't try this at home). There's no way this relationship could be anything but faithful, so readers who like pure romances can dive right in. Let me say it again: This story is a pretend transmigration, pretend fantasy, pretend coming-of-age tale... After failing countless times, I, Ji, am still determined to write a feel-good fairytale. Finally, this story is entirely fictional, entirely fictional, entirely fictional (that's important, so it's said three times). The author's imagination is limited, so any resemblance is purely coincidental. This story will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, August 4. The paid section will be 10,000 words.
