Supernatural Mystery
Monsters more lovable than people.
Villains uglier than ghosts.
Terrifying desires, twisted and unpredictable, controlled by evil spirits.
All of it is brought to life on the pages of a painting.
The final age in which humans, ghosts, monsters, and gods coexist.
Nation and Home
“Treacherous ministers bring calamity upon the court, deceiving their ruler and defying his orders. Thirteen urgent edicts summon General Yue to withdraw his troops. You occupy your offices without doing your duty, until the nation is no longer a nation. And now that a mere young woman has won military honors, you can no longer sit still. If you have such courage and loyalty, why not take the field, slay the enemy, and reclaim the old capital!”
“Gu Xizhang, I grant you the title of Anling. May you one day bring peace to my realm, avenge my ancestors, and restore our mighty dynasty!”
Romance
“Lieutenant, if one day I stand above millions, will you still love me, protect me, and treat me as an equal?”
“No, no. The future is too far away. Lieutenant, I only want you now. I only want your answer in this moment.”

[Reading Guide]
The supernatural mystery and nation-and-home plotlines run in parallel. The supernatural elements are central to the story.
The setting is inspired by the Southern Song, but is mostly fictional.
Also known as The Southern Dynasty's Women.
See my Weibo, @Yi Deli'er, for character illustrations and related details.
Theme: Stand firm
There was an undercurrent in the army. Because of unfair rewards, ordinary soldiers had difficulty living and people were divided. This was originally a problem of the court. An Ling was pushed to the forefront. Her colleagues did not understand her difficulties, and their resentment was transferred to her. So An Ling was stabbed in the back, and Pingjiang's six years of life were worse than death. There was also instability in the court. The Shaoxing Emperor blindly wielded power and had ulterior motives, but acted for personal gain instead of serving the public good. He abused his power and ruined the country. The Longxing Emperor's identity was controlled by others, and he was hampered by others, making it difficult to implement his grand plans. The prince died a few years ago. After the death, the East Palace has no owner; Lingjun is regarded by the world as a puppet supported by the Supreme Emperor, living in a den of snakes and rats with the Emperor of Shaoxing, but in reality he is hiding his power and biding his time. Jiachen holds the power of the imperial army but has no damage to the throne, and the other princes are ready to make a move. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the country was on the verge of collapse, but the dangerous eggs still collided with each other under the cover of the nest, making it difficult to form a joint force. Was Lingjun determined to join the court because of the incident in Anling? "If I were the emperor, I would definitely not let the lieutenant fight the big bear." Maybe I was thinking too little, but her original intention must have been the lieutenant. In fact, the picture of war and smoke she painted had already seen the end of the Southern Song Dynasty falling apart. Gu Anling was on good terms with the officials and Lingyun, so he must have been keenly aware of the instability of the current situation, right? But she is more deeply involved in the world than Lingyun, and her sense of responsibility leaves her with no way out. After reading this chapter, the relationship between Lingjun and Gu Xizhang seems to have suddenly lost the pure, beautiful and carefree feeling in Jinling. In fact, when the two first met six years later, this feeling was mixed with practical problems, but the two still got along so well, downplaying this complexity. Until now, Lin'an is about to be stormy, and I suddenly realize clearly that under the crisis, people grow too fast, as if they can resist the torrent of the times, but there is always a kind of sadness hidden under this behavior. Lingjun is a free and easy person, she was born in this world, and this flexibility and escape gave her room to move; but An Ling is not, she is a responsible person, deeply involved in the world, thoughtful, and restrained, which sometimes makes Jiaqi unable to grasp it. The last sentence, "Your Highness, just sit tight in the high hall," could not be said to be a determination not to let the other party get involved in it, but a little bit of awe and alienation towards Lingyun. Her care for Lingyun and her pampering seemed to stem from a sense of responsibility and love, as well as a preference for Lingyun himself. But this is not a sign of letting go of her guard, nor is it love. Facing Lingyun's growth, she feels a little lost and even at a loss, but she is not moved because she has always maintained the emotion of the encounter, which makes her more self-sufficient in her relationship with Lingyun and maintains a firm bottom line. But if you think about it from another angle, love seems to emerge from strangerness and alienation. It's easier to become close friends if you are like-minded at the beginning. Lingyun's keenness allows her to always see through An Ling's disguise and her true emotions beneath her carelessness. Now, this sensitivity has become one of the reasons why Gu Anling keeps distance from her, but I hope that this sensitivity can become the reason for Anling's heartbeat. As I write this, I feel a little worried. As the saying goes, no eggs are left intact after the nest is overturned. I am worried that the chaos in the Southern Song Dynasty will prevent them from staying together, but I also believe that there are gods in heaven and earth who can promise them a land of independence. What's more, they are looking forward to An Ling changing his mind, looking forward to His Highness continuing to grow and confessing his feelings as soon as possible. In my personal reading experience, I always feel that there are too many reading materials in Jinjiang, but I can calm down and read them carefully, and there are too few re-reads. I saw this good book in the waves. Although the frequency of updates makes me itchy every day, I also understand that a well-written book requires readers to wait patiently, rather than an assembly line operation of several Jinjiang coins. I would like to thank the author for his careful creation, and the fate that allowed me to encounter this book.
When will it be updated? I really like this article.
Zhan Lie talked for a long time. He really thought he loved his subordinates, but in fact he was just protecting the little ones in the family. It was hypocritical.
If you don't study, I'll come back and update the article!

Hiss... The river was so red that it was burning red. I thought it was related to the root of the tree where the dog was buried, but it turned out that the river was stained with blood...
Is Gu Er's life experience similar to that of Gu Ji in "The Story of Pingjiang"? Chapter 14 Yun Bai also asked if she was adopted.
