A Twist of Fate

It began when Li Xi took a shabby, bald writing brush from her impoverished cousin. He sweet-talked her into believing it was a family heirloom. Later, the cousin caught the eye of an official's daughter, who threatened Li Xi and demanded she hand over the "family heirloom." Then Li Xi met Lu Xu. Li Xi thought that she, her impoverished cousin, the official's daughter, and the man she loved, Lu Xu, were caught in a cheesy four-way love triangle: You love me, I don't love you; I love her, she doesn't love me, and round and round it goes. Only later did she realize that although the circle was dizzying, it had not yet closed. She had left out one person: Zhao Jiahe. In the end, she was the one left over. A sorrowful sigh, One laments in vain, The other yearns in vain.
