The Evening Breeze Can't Compare to You

①

In a secluded seaside resort, Gu Beiyan spent a wonderful, passionate summer with a blind young man of striking looks and a pure, gentle air.

She saw him again at her engagement party. The man had transformed into the newly appointed head of the Xie family, the Gu family's most important business partner.

His hearing and eyesight were both sharp. With a pair of beautiful, peach-blossom eyes open, he raised his glass of red wine to hers. His gaze was colder than the depths of winter in December.

Gu Beiyan was stunned. "Your eyes have healed?"

The man, with no hint of a smile in his eyes, slowly curled his lips. "What, now that you've realized I'm not blind, do you regret breaking up with me?"

②

The day Gu Beiyan asked to break up, Xie Yanqing sat alone by the window all night.

A perceptive subordinate nearby hesitated before asking, "President Xie, shall I send someone to bring Miss Gu back?"

The man's clasped hands turned white at the knuckles. His voice was cool. "Let her go."

Later, on a summer night of torrential rain, the man, soaked through and trembling, knocked on Gu Beiyan's door and reached out to tug at the hem of her clothes.

"Let's get back together. I'm begging you."
