Killer Taste Buds

I've been preparing to change jobs, so I really haven't had time to update lately. Updates will be irregular for a while. I'm sorry!

After her scumbag boss, whom she'd dated for three years, cheats on her, Cheng Yingwei loses her job. At the request of her best friend, she heads to Jiangxin Town to interview Yan Xiu, the country's youngest inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of pufferfish cooking. Yan Xiu hates being interrupted while experimenting with pufferfish dishes, and since Cheng Yingwei has taken the job, she can only chase after him. When an arrogant chef meets a lovelorn older woman, the little Yan Family Pufferfish Restaurant suddenly gets lively...

Cheng Yingwei: You jerk Yan Xiu, aren't you afraid I'll drip pufferfish blood into your tea one day and poison you?

Yan Xiu: I'm already poisoned by you.

A foodie story, one-on-one romance, updates every other day.

I'm sick, and this really isn't an excuse. Arrow Girl, the only reader who's always been there for me, knows everything that's happened in my life. I once joked with her that Heaven just wouldn't let me write. Every time I finish a few books, all sorts of uncontrollable things happen in real life. The last two times, the river embankment collapsed and put my home at risk, and this time, I got sick.

I planned to kill off my pen name and start over once I recovered, but Arrow Girl has been quietly helping me claim the free reading slots all this time. Yes, she's across the ocean, but we trust each other, and I'm not worried about giving her my account password. I didn't even know she'd been doing this until she told me a couple of days ago that she'd managed to get one.

I don't want to let her down, so I'll do my best to update when I'm feeling a little better, but updates will have to be slow. I'm sorry to the two new readers who recently showed up. *Bows.*

I'm only saying this in this update because lots of new readers will probably browse my author page on the day the book becomes free. I'm truly sorry, everyone.
