The River Spirit's Bridegroom

River Goddess Diary: My name is Shi Huaxi. I’m a river goddess, a female River God. When my predecessor was transferred away, he told me this job had a bright future. Brides in red wedding gowns would ride bamboo rafts weighted with stones down to the riverbed to come find me. Every few years, people would even send me a concubine. What could be better? I figured having a husband would be much the same. I never managed to get married before I ascended to immortality. It wasn’t because I was ugly. Cultivation just kept me too busy to bother. Anyway, I regretted it. So when I heard about this job, I was delighted to take it. But who could have known he was a big liar? Forget getting two in three years. I’ve guarded this lousy river for over a hundred years, and not one has come. Not! A! Single! One! Premise:
