Methuselah (Long-Lived Species)

Methuselah, a biblical figure in Genesis said to have lived to the age of 965, meaning a person of exceptionally great age. In this story, the name describes an "immortal race."

Blurb:

Hunger has always been my most loyal companion. Whether I was poor or rich, sick or healthy, things going well or badly, it was always by my side. But that doesn't mean that, in this powerful body I have now, my will to survive will let me keep acting recklessly.

Only when the beastlike urge to survive had been satisfied and I was finally free of it did I put aside all my joy at being "reborn."

My room is full of corpses. I'm covered in blood. In my hands are familiar body parts. Beneath my feet is a spreading mess of filth--perhaps the last blood and urine of a human being, perhaps the final few tears I had left as a human.

Ah, yes. I'm no longer human.

The first few chapters were written on August 17, 2013. Later, I lost the document and rewrote it. This used to be a short story, but now...

Cuties, you can read a few more chapters before making up your minds.
