[Naruto] Getting to Know You Again

Dropped this fic. If you're interested, check out my other completed Hokage fanfics in my author page. This is a SasuNaru fic! SasuNaru! SasuNaru! All right, here's the synopsis: After observing him for an entire year, Sasuke realized that the Naruto who had been reborn was completely different from the one he remembered. Sasuke could use many words to praise the Naruto of the past: gentle, strong, beautiful, powerful, and more. Even as a child, he had been a delicate-looking person who met other people's cruelty with a gentle smile. He was nothing like the person standing before Sasuke now. This Naruto always stood timidly outside the crowd, gazing at those who hated him with longing and fear. His blond hair was always sticking up, and his face was often smudged with dirt or covered in bandages. When Sasuke deliberately approached him, Naruto acted like a startled little animal. Once he was sure Sasuke meant well, he showed him a sun-filled smile unlike the gentle, faint smiles Sasuke had grown used to. Then he became brash, was a complete idiot about everyday things, and kept his home piled high with garbage. And yet, even though this Naruto was weak and prickly, and seemed inferior to the person Sasuke remembered in every way, whenever he saw Sasuke and joyfully shouted his name as he ran over, whenever he squinted at Sasuke with puffed-out cheeks, whenever he laughed and thanked Sasuke for teaching him... Sasuke felt as though all the dark emotions from his past life melted away in Naruto's presence. The small happiness revealed in Naruto's utterly unrestrained grin reached Sasuke's heart, clear as day.
