Love Between an Unknowable Being and a Human
When I was sixteen, I saw a blood moon in the pitch-black night sky.
Through the thick fog, a breathtakingly beautiful woman walked toward me. She pressed a slender finger to my lips and whispered a warning: "Don't speak. It will notice you."
My mind was hazy. I gazed at her in a daze, my voice softening as I asked, "Who are you?"
In the blood moon, a pair of crimson eyes slowly turned toward me. A heavy, oppressive gaze fell on me and held me fast.
I passed out. When I woke up, it was the beginning of a long, endless night.
I couldn't remember a thing. My mother dumped me back in my hometown, locked me in an old house in town, and looked at me with disgust. "I don't know what unclean thing you've picked up..."
Strange events kept happening around town. Maybe I really had brought misfortune with me.
The neighbors gathered in the street, averting their eyes as they whispered about me. "I heard she was possessed... She used to be such an ordinary girl. How did she grow up looking like that..."
"She looks so bewitching. Her figure is as supple as a snake's. She doesn't look like a respectable girl at all..."
"She's good at school, too, but almost too clever... That's inauspicious..."
I had no time for them. I had my own secret.
On nights when the bright moon shone overhead, I would dream of her.
The woman was cool and pure as moonlight, yet her eyes held a pool of spring water. She would stroke my chin with her fingertips, then brush the corners of my eyes.
Night after night, she watched me, her voice gentle and endlessly alluring:
"You must come back to me."
"I've already marked you as mine."
"You belong to me."
"You will belong to me forever and ever."
* A cool, moonlike, breathtakingly beautiful goddess x a soft, frail young woman
* Not written in first person; the main story is in third person
* A pure romance with Lovecraftian elements and lots of original worldbuilding
* The god has tentacles, the god has a nonhuman form, and the god is a bad woman. The god's feelings are nonhuman!!! The young woman is truly frail, truly a crybaby, and emotionally sensitive, delicate, easily troubled, and immature in many ways!!! Neither of them is a good person in the conventional sense. If you can't handle intense, twisted, and warped relationship dynamics, run away now!!!
* The official title is The Moon Fell for Me. It will be changed after the story is complete.
Theme: Haven't thought of one yet.
