The Game Collapsed After the NPC Faked Their Death

Chu Xuanyu is a live NPC in the full-dive game The Demon Emperor God Venerable. His job is to accompany different players on quests and achievement runs, experiencing from the male lead's point of view the thrilling demonic life of leveling up from the least-favored little prince of the demon clan to a generation-defining Demon Emperor. But then the System updates one day, and before any players have even logged in, he gets stuck inside the game. There, he runs into the main character, a little prince scavenging for scraps. Looking at the poor kid, who gets possessed by a game player every time, right before his leveling journey begins, and has never once enjoyed the treatment a protagonist deserves, Chu Xuanyu clicks his tongue. "Since we can't get out anyway, let this top-rank NPC show you how to enjoy the thrilling life of a protagonist!" Then Chu Xuanyu uses his NPC identity as a "male consort of the imperial harem" to become the little prince's adoptive father. The little prince is too weak? Chu Xuanyu digs up a thousand-year-old spiritual treasure hidden in the imperial garden and makes him soup. The little prince can't master his spells? Chu Xuanyu brings out box after box of secret manuals for him to choose from. The little prince can't sleep because it's cold? Chu Xuanyu generously lifts the covers of his own little bed. After setting a new record for filling the achievement meter at lightning speed, Chu Xuanyu happily fakes his death and logs off, thinking the game will restart. But the entire server crashes instead!? To figure out what happened, Chu Xuanyu has to log in again. Then he hears that his little prince is rampaging and wreaking havoc across the world, all to revive his beloved, who lies in a slumbering ice coffin. Chu Xuanyu: "Let me see what kind of cabbage got stuck in my pig's throat!" He approaches the ice coffin, discovers it's a mirror, and wears a face full of question marks. The next second, warm, damp breath brushes his ear, and Chu Xuanyu hears a familiar yet unfamiliar male voice say, "You finally decided to come back, Father." * Wenren Lian has known all along that he is living in a game. He has repeated the same storyline hundreds, even thousands of times, controlled by so-called "players" and made to live out his life. Then he discovers a bug in the System and, at the instant he is "possessed," ends the game and takes back control of his own body. Wenren Lian has long grown tired of this unchanging world. But then Chu Xuanyu becomes his one and only "variable," and somehow... everything starts to get interesting again? [Important Notes and Content Warnings] 1.
