(This account is mainly for leave notices and plot discussions.) Blurb: Yao Xi's bastard sister-in-law conspired with a eunuch to sell her into the palace. Being sent to the palace would have been bad enough! But she ends up serving in the palace of the Empress Dowager, a notorious enchantress known throughout the land for her ruthlessness and terrible reputation. Thousands of people want her dead. The Empress Dowager says, "Little Yao, come taste my food and check for poison." The Empress Dowager says, "Little Yao, go take a knife for me." The Empress Dowager also says, "Little Yao, you and that young palace maid seem rather close!" Yao Xi says, "Your Highness, life in the palace is so lonely. This little eunuch would like to find a companion." The Empress Dowager says, "Don't you already have one?" Yao Xi, looking innocent: "How would I know!!!" The Empress Dowager, looking cold: "Little Yao, pick up your chopsticks and sit down. Taste my food and check for poison." *Coming soon: The Tang Dynasty's Stubborn Holdout. Please add it to your reading list: a sweet romance between an empress and a little mountain god.* Blurb: The Empress wants to move her palace, and the perfect site selected by the Imperial Astronomical Bureau happens to be the mountain belonging to Yue Zhi, a little mountain god. Yue Zhi has spent over a thousand years getting by in the Immortal Realm. At long last, she was assigned a little hill. It may be small, but at least it was her own territory. Now and then, she would receive offerings from the villagers and invite the nearby minor gods to drink and socialize. All in all, she led a carefree and happy life. But the good times didn't last. One day, a demolition crew from the royal family arrived, saying they would level her little hill to build the Empress a palace. The court would compensate her with a huge sum of silver for her loss. Silver? Yue Zhi laughed. The ground beneath her was full of countless nuggets of gold and silver. She wanted her home, not money. The Empress insisted on building a palace here, but Yue Zhi refused to move, no matter what. One day, the Empress finally ran out of options. The Empress: "All under Heaven belongs to the sovereign. In the end, this little mountain of yours belongs to me, too." Yue Zhi: "Spare me the nonsense. I'm not moving!" The Empress: "All under Heaven is mine, but I am yours. In the end, the palace we build will be yours, too." Yue Zhi blushed. The famous holdout of the realm had finally fallen to love. Theme:
