King of Qin Ying Zheng

"The Crown Prince of Yan, Dan, had once been a hostage in Zhao. Qin Shi Huang, Ying Zheng, was born in Zhao, and when they were young, he and Dan were close. After Zheng ascended the throne as King of Qin, Dan became a hostage in Qin. The king treated the Crown Prince of Yan poorly, so Dan grew resentful and fled back to Yan." - Records of the Grand Historian, "Biographies of Assassins"

Who turned Qin Shi Huang, the emperor who united all under Heaven, and the Crown Prince of Yan, Dan, against each other?

"The wind sighs, cold is the Yi River. A hero departs, never to return!"

Who drove Jing Ke, a famed assassin of his age, to make an unflinching attempt on the King of Qin's life?

Ying Zheng: I sought immortality, but all I wanted was a love that would last forever, and him, the one I could never have.

Ji Dan: If A-Zheng had always been by my side, I would have been far happier than Ying Zheng.

Zhao Gao: Come with me. I'll give up revenge, all right?

Jing Ke: A-Zheng loves freedom. I want to give him the freedom he wants.

It was only a story from the past, a tale from long ago...

P.S. Ahem, this idea came to this unscrupulous author on a whim while studying Records of the Grand Historian in high school. Please don't connect it to real history...

Some things in the story may not match the historical record, but please don't nitpick, since it's for the sake of the plot...

I'll do my best to keep things historically accurate, but please don't expect too much from a science student like me. [Tears...]

Also: The historical references in the story were researched using Records of the Grand Historian and Baidu Baike.

If you spot any mistakes, please point them out. I'll gladly correct them! [Bows...]
