The Most Distant Lover

The greatest distance in the world is not between life and death, but between two people who know they love each other and still cannot be together. I have an older brother, two years older than me, but I've never seen him. When I was two, he left with our mother, leaving me and my father behind. So my memories have never included a brother, not until I grew up and was old enough to understand things. When I was little, other children often bullied me. If I fought back, they'd call their older brothers and sisters over to "teach me a lesson." Maybe because I'd suffered so much, I missed my brother more and more. I began to imagine what he was like: tall and handsome, with the bearing of a great hero; hating evil and loving what was right. In short, he was the perfect guy. I always had one worry: What if I met my brother one day without knowing who he was, and he was so wonderful that I fell hopelessly in love with him? What would I do then? Would I be heartbroken and miserable like Fang Qi in the novel? Sometimes I laugh at myself for being silly. How could I possibly fall in love with my own brother? But you never know what life will bring. What if? ... Actually, I really do hope to find my brother, but we haven't seen each other in more than ten years. Besides, I don't even know his name or where he is... I don't know if we'll ever have the chance to see each other again in this lifetime... Brother, where are you? Do you know you have a little sister like me in this world? I dedicate this book to my brother, to express how much I miss him!

PS: The book The Most Distant Lover was written in 2007. Three years later, in 2010, I finally met my brother.
